Today, I interrupt all regularly scheduled programming to bring you the important news that Heritage Bakery has a pop up shop!  I’ve written about Heritage previously. Their dreamy pink guava chiffon cake constantly pops up in my daydreams… The great news is that until October 31st, you can find some of their classics right in their pop up shop, in the A4 building, B2 level of Mitsubishi department store.

The pop up shop is located in the food court level of the A4 building. Even though it’s a small shop you will be able to find their signature desserts, such as the guava chiffon cake (Guava Delight) and carrot cake, and also their decadent cinnamon rolls. Two new types of cake that can also be found exclusively at the pop up are the Pink Guava Cheesecake and their caramel chocolate cake.

The cakes at the pop up are conveniently sold by the slice, so you can mix and match to your heart’s very desire.  (There is a discount if you buy 4 slices) You also have the option to purchase an entire cake, in case you are celebrating a birthday or a special occasion.  For this visit, I decided on the pink guava chiffon, the carrot cake, and of course the caramel chocolate cake.

The pink guava cake is just as I remember it, with a dreamy whipped cream topping, dotted with crisp, sweet chunks of pink guava.  The chocolate cake is dense, rich and the perfect balance of bitter and sweet. The frosting is swirled in, adding just the right amount of decadence.

I also want to compliment the packaging! I love these sturdy cardboard trays, used instead of the usual plastic ones.

If you are in the area, make sure to stop by and grab a slice (or a few!) of Heritage’s cakes.  If you can’t make it there by October 31st, then you can always stop by their original location, in the camera district, located near Taipei Main Station.

Enjoy!
