I visited Moment Cafe and Bakery in between meetings, and the second I came out of the MRT station, rain poured from the heavens with no sign of stopping.  I hopped into a cab to avoid being soaked, and it was only when I made my way back to the MRT station afterwards, that I realized how easy it was to walk to the Cafe.  Come out of Exit 2 of Jiannan Station, and you will see the black New Square building.  Turn left, and continue walking down the street, and after about 10 minutes or so, you will see the front door of the Grand Mayfull Hotel, where Moment Cafe is located on the first floor.

Moment Cafe has a tranquil setting the decor is a combination of wood and marble, with soft lighting, and the seats are luxuriously plush and comfortable.

Once you arrive, you are lead to a table, and handed a drinks menu. If you would like a dessert, go up to the counter, you can go up to the counter and see which one strikes your fancy.  I like how each dessert has a photo of the baker who created it.  I chose the lemon meringue tart on the furthest left.

I ordered a latte, alongside with the lemon meringue tart.   The latte arrived about 10 minutes after I ordered.  At first, I thought I would wait for the lemon tart to arrive, so I could enjoy them together.  But, after waiting a few minutes,  I decided to drink the latte while it was hot.   Good thing I didn’t wait, because the lemon tart arrived about 40 minutes later!  It turns out, they had forgotten about my dessert order.  Once the lemon meringue tart arrived, I was pleased to discover that it had a tangy, creamy custard filling, with a tiny dollop of strawberry inside, and was topped with a sweet fluffy meringue.

Afterwards, the manager apologized again and kindly took the price of the dessert off my bill.  Despite this tiny mishap, I would still keep Moment Cafe on my list of options for afternoon tea with my friends.  I found the atmosphere to be pleasant and inviting. Since the the cafe is well-lit, both from the overhead lighting and large windows,  it would also be a good place to read, or get some work done.

Enjoy!

This was not a sponsored post. However, the dessert was complimentary, to make up for a mix up with my order.  All viewpoints and opinions are based on my experiences.

  1. Those desserts are gorgeous! I love the little “Black Forest” mushrooms. So imaginative. The sizes are perfect too. Just enough to get a bite or two but not over the top. Your photography is stunning. I love reading your posts – each one is like a gem. I feel inspired to get a cookbook for desserts & try my own much messier versions. Best wishes ♥
